Naples Window Tinting

Just about every kind of window can be tinted and it’s common for cars, commercial and residential buildings.  While often applied for purely aesthetic reasons, window tinting serves a practical use too.

In a climate like ours where the sun is strong, having tinted windows can lessen the glare, keep you cool, prevent UV damage and protect furniture.  Window tints reduce sun glare through a window by deflecting much of the light and blocking the ultra violet rays.  This not only prevents UV damage to your skin but it stops furniture and decorations fading or warping.

Wood is very sensitive to light, even when treated.  Extreme heat can cause the wood to dry out, warp and split.  Not good if you have lots of fine wooden furniture around.  The UV light also makes fabrics fade, including carpets, curtains and soft furnishings.

Of course having tinted windows also prevent burglars from seeing what you have to steal and other nefarious characters peering into your windows when you don’t want them to!

The advantages of tinted windows are much the same for commercial buildings.  Keeping the sun’s glare out of the building provides a much nicer environment to work and reduces energy costs by not requiring so much air-conditioning.  Increased privacy is also a byproduct of having tinted windows.  Not only is it difficult to see into a building to see if there is anything worth stealing, but many tints come with security film to prevent breakage.  The windows will no longer be the easiest way of accessing the building, which can significantly reduce the burglary risk.

The most common use of window tinting by far is for cars.  It’s often applied to make the car look better or for increased privacy, but it also offers the same benefits as commercial and residential buildings.

There isn’t as much airflow in a car as there is in a building making overheating more of a problem.  Reducing the amount of heat allowed into the vehicle will stop it getting too hot, even in the sunniest climates.  It will also prevent UV damage to your skin while driving which is a real benefit if you drive a lot.  Practically, tinted glass reduces glare.  There is no doubt that this adds to the safety aspect of driving.  Not only will it protect you from the sun’s glare, but also that of oncoming headlights.

It also offers security and safety advantages.  Crooks would not be able to check the car out so easily, and if you were carjacked or in a crash, some tinting films will prevent shattering, giving you the opportunity to avoid injury or escape.

If your vehicle is parked in the sun, having tinted glass will also prevent the upholstery from fading.  Leather interiors heat up to an amazing degree, enough to be very uncomfortable.  Prevent that by adding tinting film and enjoy a cool car once more.

Having windows tinted offers many advantages considering its relative low cost.  Not only does it enhance the image of the car or building, it also makes it more comfortable and safer.
